Budget And Finance

SOURCES OF INCOME

  • Cess collection @ Rs.4.22/kg , Rs.2.31/Kg, Rs. 2.01/Kg, Rs.3.67 & Rs.2.01/kg for Flur Cured Virginia-FCV (plain & sub-mountainous areas), Dark Aired-Cured Tobacco-DAC, White Patta-WP, Burley & Naswar, Snuff, Hookah, and other Rustica Tobacco and its Products respectively as per Federal Government Notification S.R.O.1354(1)/2086 dated November 6, 2018. (The Notification can be seen at dowloads section)

                  (a)  From Tobacco Companies on their declared requirements of tobacco.

Export Regulations

  • Every exporter will submit his request for quantity of tobacco to be exported not later than October 31 each year.
  • Pakistan Tobacco Board regulates the allotment of tobacco and its products for export and notifies the allotment in daily newspapers.
  • Every exporter has to export the full amount of tobacco during the year for which he has been allotted the quota.
  • No tobacco or its product shall be exported except under NOC or permit from Pakistan Tobacco Board.

Functions of PTB

  • Regulate, control, promote export and fix grading standards
  • Undertake/assist research and impart training in tobacco testing
  • Render assistance for the development of new  tobacco growing areas and to establishes model farms
  • Collect statistics on any matter relating to tobacco
  • Perform any other function as assigned by the Federal Government from time to time.
